Sophomore Jaeden Workman (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) tied for third overall to cap an impressive fall season as the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team also took third at the Illinois College Fall Invite on Sunday and Monday.

The Chargers shot a 348 on Sunday at the Links of Jacksonville and 343 on Monday at Jacksonville Country Club to match the 691 they posted in winning the tournament last year.

Workman followed a first-round 79 with an 81 on Monday to finish tied for third with Danville Area’s Mackenzie McCoy. They were four strokes behind medalist Shelby Keen and two behind Sam Nichols, both of Knox. It wrapped up a fall campaign for Morrison that saw her place no lower than sixth in Sandburg’s five tournaments. The Eastern Illinois-bound Morrison posted finishes of fifth, sixth, fifth, second and third.

Sophomore Madison Newton (Erie, Ill./Erie) shot 82-87 to tie for 12th for the Chargers, and freshman Kelli Kennedy (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) closed with an 81 to total 175 and place 16th overall.

Monmouth (321-335—656) won the tournament by 14 shots over host Illinois College (334-336—670).
